Management

Bret Scott Pafford Jr.

Managing Partner

Bret is a Food and Beverage industry veteran with a total of 26 years of experience – 19 of which were in executive management. He has been a resident of Maui, Hawaii for the past 12 years fully immersed in “Aloha” style of hospitality. Bret has returned “home” being a native to Zionsville, Indiana. He started cooking at age 14 most notably working up the ranks at the Glass Chimney with the late Dieter Puska. After graduating, he immediately attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Bret’s Culinary style has been refined working in prominent kitchens in New York, Maui, and California – exposed to great chefs like Sottha Kuhn of Le Cirque and the late Jean-Louis Palladin.

David Howard

Managing Partner

David Howard is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a major in Aviation and minors in Business and Cello Performance. He studied cello with Bruce Uchimura and a member of the Western Michigan Symphony Orchestra and the WMC Cello Studio. In 2005, David founded Howard’s Home Improvement and has worked hard to earn a reputation as one of Indiana’s most respected builders. David has always had a passion for great food, particularly Latin cuisine. In February of 2015, David partnered with Angel Magno to build “La Poblana” – a food truck that has established itself as the most authentic food truck in Bloomington, Indiana. David partnered with Chef Pafford to continue his desire to bring great food to the community.

Abraham Carney

Human Resources

Abraham Carney holds a doctorate in education, masters in language education from Bryson & Indiana university. For many years he held position of high school English teacher also running an in-school creative writing program, an after-school program for EFL students and adults, coached five athletic teams, sponsored three book clubs, and successfully implemented his own Project Based Learning curriculum. Applying his Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, a Masters in Language Education, and a Bachelors in Secondary Education/English; two Minors, Anthropology and Creative Writing. His anticipated contribution to ReVv & Strum Hospitality will prove to be invaluable asset to the future success of our company.

Ethan Rodgers

Bar Operations

Ethan Rodgers is an Indianapolis based bartender having worked for many of the city’s most prominent cocktail bars. He is a bartender devoted to constant growth in knowledge and education in the realm of spirits with a deep passion for the rich history of alcohol and distillation. He has spent the past five years bringing new and innovative cocktails to the Indianapolis imbiber, expanding the boundaries for guests and himself. When he is not shaking and stirring beverages he can be found painting in his studio or watching Netflix with his cat children Simon and Bonnie.

Mary Claire Webb

Marketing

Mary Claire (“MC”) is a graduate from Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a B.S. in Marketing. She was a 4-year D1 athlete competing on the Women’s Rowing Team. She is a Chicago native that fell in love with the feel of the Bloomington community. MC has a passion for hospitality and service – having most recently worked for a Four Diamond Guest Dude Ranch in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She loves to travel, loves to try new things, and always has a smile on her face!

Brandon Sijalbo

Sous Chef

Brandon Sijalbo grew up in the island of Maui where he gained experiences in a multiple fine dining restaurant setup along side chef Bret Pafford. While working in luxury environments in food & beverage industry for over 7 years, he was able to build a strong foundation for his career as a cook.During personal times, Brandon likes to enjoy outdoor activities but most of all, he loves exploring new cuisine.
